Hal Finney

Hal Finney (May 4, 1956 – August 28, 2014) was an American computer scientist and cryptographer, notable as an early Bitcoin contributor and the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto. A member of the cypherpunk movement, Finney previously contributed to PGP and various cryptography projects. He passed away in 2014 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
